The Party is a large format which took approximately 2 months to make. It serves as the opening to a narrative, a murder mystery. There are many hidden details and clues, which then are repeated in the other pieces of the exhibition Shadows of Intrigue (Botanicar, Zagreb). There are also a myriad of references in the painting, such as the ramp of the staircase from Billy Wilder's Sunset Boulevard, the statue from the Hitchcock film Notorious, the lush fireplace inspired by the film Rebecca... The paintings hung on the wall also refer to Manet's Un Bar au Folies Bergère, Sir Frederic Leighton's Flaming June and more.
